SQUASH IN SCHOOLS

Every club should aim to have junior squash coaching on offer, and this is a key objective for any club development programme. Schools initiatives are a great way to bring new blood into your club coaching programme. They also build awareness of your club in the local area and amongst parents. Who knows, you might even get the parents wanting to join, as well as the children!

What is your club’s squash profile in the surrounding local community?

INTRODUCING THE NEXT GENERATION
Junior Squash Coaching

Expand your junior section by taking squash into Primary schools. We can make squash as attractive an option to parents as swimming, gymnastics and tennis!

With over 100 hours experience of running school programmes in 2019/20 alone, we know exactly how to showcase squash to entice new players into the game. Either in the school gym hall, or in the club – we have solutions to fit every scenario. Run in a short format ending in a festival, and a structured follow up to make contact with the parents afterwards, we can help you grow the players of the future.

SECONDARY SCHOOLS
SQUASH FOR THOSE THAT KNOW EVERYTHING!

Forging links with local secondary schools is a great way to recruit players into your club. Generate new team players in a very short space of time!

Through building partnerships with the local Active Schools coordinator, we organise lunchtime and after school clubs, using the Scottish Squash SchoolSquash Initiative.

There's even the potential to connect with PE courses and sports leaders awards - helping recruit coaches to run coaching programmes going forward.

Martin’s vision and experience in the sport has seen Scotstoun Eagles become the fastest growing squash club in Glasgow. His enthusiasm for getting people of all ages into squash has definitely been the driving force behind the club’s success.
Grant Morrison, Glasgowlife Coaching and Volunteering Manager
The Scotstoun squash programme has been fantastic for introducing local school pupils to squash both in school and at the courts. The feedback from both pupils and staff from the coaching has been fantastic and schools are always keen to receive new sessions.
