Well done to Robyn McAlpine who has just returned from Melbourne, Australia! Robyn was selected to play in both the Under 19 Women’s Junior World individual and Team Championships – The story even appeared in the Herald!
Robyn had a great event. In the individual event, she played Asia Harris, the English No.1 who is two years older than Robyn. Despite losing 3 – 1, Robyn ran her close in some very tight games.
During the team event, Robyn met Fayrouz Abouelkheir, ranked 33 in the world, and managed to take a game, losing 3 – 1, and showing her potential to take on the best in the world! She also beat the Canadian No, 1, Ocean Ma, and the Singaporean No.1.
This event has been a great springboard for Robyn as she starts her Professional career! Here’s looking forward to Robyn’s first PSA (Professional Squash Association) Event in Sweden in September – We’ll keep you updated!
