Junior Squash Sessions: Western Sparks for Ages 5–7
Are you looking for a fun and active way to introduce your child to sport? Our Western Sparks program offers the perfect junior squash sessions for children aged 5 to 7 years old. Whether your child is picked up a racket before or is stepping onto a court for the very first time, the Sparks sessions provide a safe and high-energy environment to learn.
Fun-First Junior Squash Coaching
At Western Health & Rackets Club, we believe that the earliest experiences in sport should be the most enjoyable. Our Western Sparks sessions are built around fun and engagement. To ensure every child feels supported, we maintain a high coach-to-player ratio. This allows our expert coaches to give younger players the attention they need to flourish.
Building Movement and Coordination
Squash is a fantastic way to improve physical literacy. During our junior squash sessions, we focus on:
- Movement Skills: Developing agility, balance, and speed on the court.
- Hand-Eye Coordination: Essential drills designed for young learners.
- Game Fundamentals: Progressing toward playing friendly games against peers of a similar age and standard.
As players grow in confidence and skill, they can transition seamlessly into our Western Bolts sessions for older juniors.
Equipment and Safety
We want to make starting squash as easy as possible for families. We provide all the necessary equipment for our Western Sparks sessions, including:
- Junior Rackets
- Protective Goggles
- Appropriate Squash Balls
Our team is always happy to advise you on which racket or goggles are most appropriate for your child if you wish to purchase your own. Rest assured, all classes are led by fully qualified and vetted coaches holding a valid Scottish Squash Coaching license.
