Martin has been coaching squash since 1990, coaching professionally since 1998. He has coached in Scotland, Northern Ireland and the USA. He has been awarded Scottish Squash Coach of the Year three times, in 2010, 2011 and 2020.
As a club coach Martin has a history of developing successful programmes for players of all ages and standards. Individually he has coached over 30 Scottish Junior National Champions, some of whom have gone on to represent Scotland at European/ world level, as well as at the Commonwealth Games. In his current role as the West of Scotland Regional Head Coach, Martin led West Squash to a clean sweep of all five age groups in the 2018 Scottish Junior Inter-Regional Championships.
