PROFESSIONAL SQUASH COACH
Squashdynamics was founded by Martin Woods, a UKCC Level 4 Qualified Coach. He has held the role of West of Scotland Regional Head Coach for the past 10 years, as well as being the Head Coach at Scotstoun Eagles Squash Club, and Western Health and Rackets Club.
Martin has been coaching squash since 1990, and has coached professionally for over 20 years. He has coached in Scotland, Northern Ireland and the USA. He has been awarded Scottish Squash Coach of the Year three times, in 2010, 2011 and 2020.
As a club coach Martin has a history of developing successful programmes for players of all ages and standards. Individually he has coached four Scottish Junior National Champions, and has coached both full Scotland and Commonwealth Games representatives. In his current role as the West of Scotland Regional Head Coach, Martin led West Squash to a clean sweep of all five age groups in the 2018 Scottish Junior Inter-Regional Championships.
He has been Team manager and Coach for the Scotland Junior Team at the Five Nations and Home international Championships, as well as the Under 15/ Under 17 and Under 19 European Team Championships.
As a Coach Educator, Martin has been a member of the UKCC source group and has been a key contributor in the design of past Scottish Squash Coaching Courses. He is an active Tutor and is able to deliver level 1, 2 and 3 courses.
In the past, Martin was ranked no.4 in Scotland and represented Scotland in the Mens European Team Championships in Rennes in 2004.
