JUNIOR PERFORMANCE COACHING
A PROVEN TRACK RECORD OF SUCCESS
Junior performance coaching is one of our strengths, and we are especially proud of the players we’ve worked with over the years. Most of our “graduates” have done well not only in squash, but also academically. Recognising that academic priorities change during the year, we focus on maintaining a healthy balance in a player’s junior squash career.
Our junior coaching achievements include;
- Leading the West Junior Squash teams to victory in every age group in the 2018 Scottish Junior Inter-Regional Championships.
- Producing Scottish No.1 players in every junior age group for both boys and girls age groups.
- Some of our junior players have went on to play professionally, at both international and Commonwealth level.
Following on from our Recreational Pathway, our junior performance coaching consists of two levels – The Evolve and Prime Programmes.
Please note: Pricing plans are not inclusive of club membership fees incurred, or regional coaching fees. These are separate and should be paid directly to the relevant club and/or region respectively.
We use the following selection guidelines to make sure that each player is in the squad that suits their needs and ability most.
All junior performance coaching should include group coaching. Both our Evolve and Prime programmes develop our players technical and tactical skills through group coaching.
The role of the coach is to be able to motivate each and every player, and inspire them to go beyond what they believe they are capable of. Individual coaching is one of the most effective ways to achieve this.
Working with Resilience-PPE, our athletes have access to one of the best coaching programmes in Scotland. Strength and conditioning is vital in order to develop movement, stability and power for squash. Every athlete will be individually assessed, and each session is taken by an expert coach as part of a safe and structured programme.
Squad sizes are deliberately kept to no more than six athletes per group, for the purpose of increasing the coaching time that each athlete receives during the sessions.
